Controls Technician - Memphis

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the implementation and modification of BMS, EPMS, and SCADA systems for data centers, following engineer specifications
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of critical systems (e.g., chillers, pumps, power distribution) using PLCs and industrial control technologies
• Support the preparation and updating of HMI graphics and interfaces for system monitoring
• Maintain automated controls for fire safety and emergency shutdown procedures (ESOP)
• Help monitor and report on key metrics like PUE and infrastructure performance via dashboards
• Coordinate with teams to respond to utility grid events and adjust systems as needed

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate's degree in a controls technology, mechatronics, automation, or another technical field
• 3+ years of hands-on experience as a technician working with industrial control systems
• Experience with Ignition SCADA or similar programming
• Experience with Siemens TIA Portal or equivalent PLC programming

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Proficiency in troubleshooting industrial equipment using IEC 61131-3 languages (e.g., ladder logic)
• Experience with hardware from Siemens, SEL, Rockwell, or similar
• Basic knowledge of HMI development tools like Ignition
• Strong problem-solving skills with a methodical approach
• Excellent documentation and communication abilities
• Ability to manage tasks independently in a team environment

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work extended periods standing, in tight quarters, and exposed to noise
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed
• Ability to lift or carry 10-15 lbs
• Subject to pre-employment drug testing and random drug/alcohol testing
