Senior Actuary

The role of an Insurance Expert at Alan is to

• Design and price insurance offers,

• Monitor the business and the risks,

• Help the rest of the team understand the subtleties of healthcare and insurance.

Recent missions include

• Build winning products and pricing strategies to unlock new segments

• Bring insurance expertise to help us sign the largest customers in Belgium

• Enter new segments like public sector to unlock new growth in Belgium

• Enhance our portfolio monitoring as it grows in scale and complexity

• Strengthen our relationship with regulatory bodies and improve our compliance

• Work with engineers to build tools to create tailored insurance offers at scale

You may be a great fit for the role if

• You have 5+ years of experience in the insurance sector, with meaningful exposure to health insurance products (hospitalisation, group insurance, disability or dental)

• You are fluent in English and Dutch (French is a plus)

• You combine a scientific background (actuarial sciences, statistics, mathematics or data science) with practical experience in insurance (product, pricing, regulatory or analytics)

• You have strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex data, business and legal questions into actionable outputs

• You have a builder mindset: you continuously identify opportunities to improve and scale processes and systems

• You are willing to deeply change the insurance and healthcare industry and challenge the status quo

• You communicate in a clear, structured and to-the-point way (written and spoken)
